Hi, I am Chris Lagesten.
I am an award winning visual artist from the Niagara Region in Ontario, Canada. Most people know me for my paintings as a visual artist. My main background is in graffiti and street art. Over the past 25+ years I have had my artwork exhibited in galleries, homes, and streets around the world. In 2019 I decided to take a leap into photography.
Over the years as an artist, I have had many opportunities to work with photographers and models in various ways. My father, Eric Lagesten, was also a photographer and a huge supporter of my artistic endeavours until he passed away in 2010. After his passing I was given his camera gear. At first, I would just use the camera for the odd snapshots and family memories, but eventually I wanted to learn how to put it to proper use. I took some time to learn the basics and adding that to my existing experiences as an artist, I decided to jump in to portrait photography.
Through portrait photography I found a new passion. Through my camera I connect with my clients and models on a personal level. I am known for capturing their true spirit and personality in my photos. I am truly a supporter of body positivity and equality and I aim to show the beauty in everyone I photograph.
